THE STORY
A mysterious Messenger tells Asher and Ezekiel that a King is coming. The households prepare food, cloaks and gold. Mary and Joseph, beggars, shepherds and Wise Men arrive with needs of their own. When the Messenger finally leads the potters to Bethlehem, they discover how much they have already given.
Asher, Ezekiel, Tabitha, Abigail and the Messenger form the continuing cast. Their shared preparation and generosity connect the encounters.
The four Shepherds, three Wise Men, two Beggars and two speaking Children offer movable speeches. Reducing two households to one requires broader dialogue changes than adjusting the visiting groups.
Children perform a broom dance, and the final nativity gathers the visiting groups. Add helpers to the preparation scene with deliberate speaking assignments if desired.
A table, pottery, cloaks, a lamp and a pouch of coins establish the workshop and its gifts. The ending moves to a manger scene.
